My wife and I happened upon this kit while browsing The Gundam Base at this year's New York Comic Con. Leah has a large collection of cute designer toys, and I'm a gunpla enthusiast, so it felt like a natural fit that combined our interests.
We took the kit home and worked on it together over the course of a few weeks - it's a simple build of course, but we chose to hand-paint the details rather than using the provided stickers. Leah had never built or painted a model before, but there is a surprisingly high degree of overlap between model painting and fingernail painting in terms of technique and materials, so I think she did pretty well all things considered!
Kit Details
- Hand-painted color separation with Model Master enamel and a bit of Vallejo acrylic
- Panel lined with Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color
- Sprayed the beam saber with Gaianotes lacquer
- Top coated with Gaianotes flat and a bit of gloss on the lenses, eyes, and beam saber
